If there is one thing that Elmi is capable of, it’s everything.

Elmi Badenhorst often collaborates with world-renowned directors like Ellen Kuras, Mark Molloy, Miles Jay and Brett Morgen, to name a few. She started her career as a costume designer in London during the early 2000s working on music videos and commercials. Then, she moved back to work in the thriving film industry in Cape Town as she transitioned to Production Design.

Due to her international reputation as an exceptional, talented artist with a gift to inspire, she was in high demand with directors filming in Cape Town and has built up a vast body of work that spans commercials, music videos, and long-form and short films. A standout achievement for her was working on the double Emmy-winning National Geographic documentary “Jane” about primatologist Jane Goodall. Elmi has also directed an award-winning short film, “ I made a film that you will never see,” about a blind world champion bowls player. In addition, she has just finished her first feature film, “Silent Roar” as Production Designer in Scotland.

She’s a hardworking and highly motivated individual with a great passion for the art of filmmaking. Elmi is inspired to continue making great films for years to come.
